Tort Claim Notices
Indiana law requires that individuals who have been injured as the result of municipal or state government action provide written notice to the local public agency or governmental subdivision within 180 days of the injury (date of incident), or 270 days for claims against the State of Indiana to preserve any state claims they may have. Ind. Code 34-13-3-6, 34-13-3-8. This notice provision does not apply to federal claims.
